LOS ANGELES_The story of an actor who discovers himself as a children’s party entertainer is the grand prize winner of the 2014-2015 DIY Book Festival.

Jason Lassen’s “Hollywood Clown” is a story common to most struggling actors trying to make their way in the sometimes-cruel world of show business. Lassen entertains at big-name celebrity parties, small events, and even Christmas shows, enduring the quirks of his hosts and their offspring. His rare insight and his ultimate realization and reconciliation of his role in entertainment captures the essence of the DIY spirit, and thus wins top honors.

Lassen and other authors and publishers will be honored at a private awards ceremony on March 7 at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood as part of the 14th annual DIY Convention: Do It Yourself in Film, Music & Books.
