2012 DIY Music Festival winner advances to finals of the Texaco Country Music Showdown.


2012 DIY Music Festival winner Poor Man’s Poison has advanced to the national finals of the Texaco Country Music Showdown.

The group advanced to the finals after winning the competition’s regional finals, held on Nov. 10 at Mill Casino in Coos Bay, Oregon.

The group will receive am all-expense paid trip to Nashville for January’s national finals, where they will compete against four other regional winners on a nationally syndicated television special. The winner of that will receive $100,000 and the honorific “best act in country music.”
Past winners of the Texaco event include Martina McBride, Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert, Neal McCoy, Sara Evans, Brad Paisley and Billy Ray Cyrus.
